Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Weekly Liturgical Activities

.

We have a crazy busy weekend ahead of us, but I have a few liturgical activities to post before it begins. This is Family Weekend with college boy, and among the many activities we'll be enjoying will be a Legacy Luncheon tomorrow for students with parents or grandparents who are alumni. It should be fun and I imagine everyone will be experiencing big-time Buckeye Fever.

On Sunday, Senator McCain is going to be in our hometown and we are planning to attend the rally. I've never participated in a political rally, but I imagine it will be quite inspiring.

It will be appropriate to remember this Sunday's Gospel as we move closer to Election Day. I read at catholiculture.org today, "We have duties to God and duties to our country and the fulfillment of the latter is part of the fulfillment of the former."

Prayer Before the Crucifix

Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus, while before Thy face I humbly kneel, and with burning soul I pray and beseech Thee to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity, true contrition for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment; while I contemplate with great love and tender pity Thy five wounds, pondering over them within me, having in mind the words which David Thy prophet said of Thee, my Jesus: "They have pierced my hands and my feet; they have numbered all my bones."

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be for the Holy Father's intentions
