Jack-o-Lantern Night
Last night we brought the pumpkins in from the front porch and Noah and Peach gave them Halloween faces.
The worst part of the carving was, "Mommy, will you do this for me? It's esgusting."
The best part, the pumpkin seeds.
Peach wanted her pumpkin to look like The Perky Little Pumpkin, her favorite Trick-or-Treat story, hence the carrot nose. Noah carved his own for the first time. They were very tough little pumpkins this year, maybe because of a very dry growing season.
Today we're reading all of our favorite Trick-or-Treat books. My personal favorite is Harriet's Halloween Candy. Besides The Perky Little Pumpkin, Peach also enjoys Franklin's Halloween. We keep it very light, but we also have to read The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything, which is really more funny than scary.
Tomorrow we talk costumes.
