Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Rosary Giveaway

.

For the past few weeks I've been thinking of hosting a giveaway here at Praying for Grace, and decided that the Feast of the Assumption would be a great time to do it. I made several rosaries while I was recuperating, and I've chosen my favorite to offer to one reader.

The Hail Mary beads are the palest shade of blue faceted glass and the Our Fathers are a slightly larger crystal glass. The center is a cutout of Mary and the crucifix has an image of a Basilica on each arm.

To enter to win, all you have to do is leave a comment with your email address (or email me). But, just for kicks (the bonus), if you can correctly guess what prayer the O'Hara family is praying in the evening prayer scene of Gone With the Wind, I'll enter your name three times. My Assumption birthday boy will pull one name out of a hat on Friday afternoon. Have fun!

  1. You have an Assumption birthday boy, too?!!

Well, put me down and pick my name. I would love to win one of your beautiful rosaries.

I have no idea what prayer the O'Hara family was saying, though. Was it...hmmm...an Irish blessing? (An obvious guess but it's all I've got.)

  2. Well, I'm not a big Gone With The Wind fan, but I am a big fan of your rosaries!

Must be give-away season. :-) I've got a few things to pass along, too.

  3. The O'Hara's are praying the Confiteor in English..."through my own fault, my own fault, my most grievous fault..."

I love that movie!! I had to help my three boys learn that particular prayer in Latin..."mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa..."

Enter me, Barb! Your rosaries are exquisitely beautiful and so are you!

I don't know GWTW well enough to know the prayer, and I am too honest to steal the answer from another comment ;)

  14. Oh boy! Win a rosary!!! Yikes, this is fantastic and such a generous offering from you to the blogging world. Your rosaries are BEAUTIFUL!!!

I'm in and just for fun, in the movie Gone with the Wind they were praying the Confitier kneeling as a family, and Scarlett was greatly distracted, crazy girl! Wouldn't it be great to resurrect this prayers to do this as a family every night, a prayer with so much beauty. The prayer can be found in a roman Missal, 1962 version or earlier and begins; I confess to almighty God, to blessed Mary ever virgin, to blessed Michael the archangel, to John the Baptist, to the holy apostles Peter and Paul, to all the saints, and to you, brethren, that I have sinned....etc.. Gee, i got carried away, sorry, but I love this prayer. LOL
