Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

The Reveal

.
You think you're going to see more pictures of my bathroom, don't you?

Nope -- this is my reveal. My old gray-haired mama reveal.

I was recently escorted to the Mom Prom with two of my young gentlemen sons, and I thought I'd share a picture of my gray hair all grown out. Finally.

I've only once been called Peach's grandma, which is a better number than I thought it would be. And, so far, no one has mistaken me for Doug's mother. If that happens -- it's back to the bottle (the L'Oreal bottle that is).

And, about the Mom Prom -- what a great event. This is our sons' high school's version of a grown-up mother-son dance. It's a big dinner and there's dancing 'till all hours (well 11 p.m. anyway). The first time I experienced it, I was in awe, and actually I still am. To watch 300-plus young men dragging their mamas out to the dance floor to dance to "oldies" is really an awesome thing. I am always grateful for our high school (all boys Catholic), but events like Mom Prom remind me how lucky we are to have a great community of young men with whom to grow and learn. If they aren't at home -- it's the next best place.

  1. Barbara,

There is NOTHING more beautiful than a mother with her children. No matter what color her hair.

God Bless every single gray hair on your lovely head!

  2. I think you look fabulous Barbara and the boys are so handsome! Sounds like a fantastic event and am glad you enjoyed it!

My Dad constantly gets referred to as my husband or my kids Dad when we're out... creepy! :)

  3. What a knock out you are!!! Your hair is a beautiful shade of gray... not dirty gray at all! And be thankful it is the same color all over. I am getting a streak of gray down my side parted grown-out bangs that make me look like that girl from the X-Men... I think her name is Rogue.

  7. Thanks for the kind words -- you girls are so good for me! And my boys are handsome -- you should have seen them dancing. I had two partners for much of the night!

M -- you can't tell from the picture, but I have a few shades of gray. Luckily they are pretty will mixed up and mostly it's silver. If you're lookin' like Rogue -- you must be a hot mama!!

  8. Barb: Your hair is lovely! It looks nearly platinum...there are not a few women who have paid for that very shade...I don't think you can get it from L'Oreal!

Your escorts are quite dashing, by the way...I'm sure they were quite proud to be seen with such a lovely lady!
