The other day, I finished listening to a CD I'd had in my car's CD player for a few days. I really don't drive anywhere for long, so it takes me awhile to get through a CD, but I actually ran to the library the other day to pick something up just so I could finish listening.
I was listening to "The Seven Secrets of the Eucharist." It was a fabulous talk given by Vinny Flynn (whose name you might recognize from EWTN). It gave me a whole new outlook on the Eucharist and an excitement for receiving each and every time, which is pretty amazing since I was pretty excited before.
This CD is one of several from the Mary Foundation that I have listened to. They have all been inspiring. I've heard Scott Hahn's Conversion, the Truth About Mary, the Mass Explained, John Corapi's Amazing Story, and I keep the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet in my CD player at all times.
I find that I am too busy to get through a book quickly anymore. Even when I have the desire, there are just too many interruptions. And while I try to read at night, most times my body takes over and I just fall asleep. So, these CDs are a great way for me to hear an inspiring faith story. Why not use that time in the car for something motivating? Of course, you don't have to wait until you're in the car, but what mom has time to sit down and listen to a CD? Maybe you can download it to your i-Pod (I don't know, can that be done?) and listen while you clean.
This wonderful series of inspiring talks is available for just a $1 donation to cover online handling. I can't imagine a better deal anywhere.

Just ordered some cds! Thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteI know you'll enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteI love these CDs, too. I know that listening in the car is a great time for me to hear some of this information and occasionally has the added bonus of putting the babies in the car to sleep!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless,
