Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

First Cold of the Year

.
Yesterday we woke up to a chilly room -- the windows were open all night and it was actually pretty crisp. If it weren't for the little sore throat I had, it would have been completely welcome. This morning the sore throat has turned into a full-blown cold with light-headedness to boot. It came from the petri dish we call high school -- first the boys, then Doug, now me. I think school will be had on the sofa. Please pass the tea pot and the Kleenex.

  2. You poor dear. I loved your "petri dish" phrase. I have never been so sick in all my life as I was the first year I taught at a school. Get better soon!

  4. Thanks for the sympathy, ladies. My nose is sore, but I WILL live (unlike those husbands who think they will die from it!).

  5. Have you tried horseradish, garlic and onion in a beef broth...
and smell the vapors then drink the soup
rub down your chest with vapor rub put a thick terry cloth on top and lay down on the fainting divan for a spell!
Or try a hot toddy at bedtime! ;) purely for medicinal purposes!!!!
