The weather in central Ohio has been glorious for three days. No air-conditioning -- just cool breezes and clear skies. On Saturday evening we had friends over for dinner, and enjoyed grilling out and roasting hot dogs on the fire. After our friends left, we enjoyed the fire while we waited to see the Strawberry Moon (so bright you could pick strawberries by the light) -- thanks, Dawn. Unfortunately the moon was hidden by a few stray clouds when it finally rose high enough on the horizon to see, but we enjoyed the night anyway.
Dad and the kids around the fire.
You can see the ghostly image of Peach running after fireflies.

From my chair -- the view of the sky where bats would frequently sweep across.
I wasn't fast enough to catch them on camera, though.
Doug was playing around with the shutter speed on his camera and caught this picture and the next two. In the picture above, Michael had a small flashlight (the blue) and a stick with the end burning on it (the red).
This was just a stick with the end burning.
The fire.
Sunday evening, the natives were restless.
They wanted more fire.
This is their fire dance -- round and round they went.
