Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Positive Superlatives

.

I think I've mentioned here once or twice that Peach is a sunny child. My sunniest child. Not that she doesn't have her moments, but for the most part she is happy, optimistic, and cheery.

Today I noticed that she is also the queen of positive superlatives. Positive, as in: not negative. And superlatives as in: pertaining to, or noting the highest degree of the comparison of adjectives and adverbs. You know -- biggest, best, highest, fastest.

Today I took note of the many times she used a superlative in a positive manner. These are just a few.

When I put a Care Bear sticker on her phonics paper, she said, "Mom you're the best."

And when I praised her for her neat numbers, she said, "This day is the greatest!"

And when she got all of her spelling words correct, she said, "Aren't I the smartest first grader?"

And when we traversed a high overpass on our way to a doctor's appointment across town (even though we were in the middle of a construction zone and there were nothing but yellow vehicles and construction material all around) she said, "Wow. This is the highest place and the most beautiful and you can see everything the best."

It may be just her age, but I really hope she stays like this forever.

  1. Oh, what a honey!! I'd love her to be an influence on my 2 oldest daughters...I'm thinking my Babycakes will be like Peach, she's always happy go lucky and so sweet. The others, are...well...shall we say moody? Yes, we shall say that!

I hope Peach stays that way forever too!

  2. How sweet!!
She and Little Brother are 2 peas in a pod.
Middle Sister has a friend who sounds a lot like Peach, and this girl is just a joy to be around. She just lights up the room! Hope the same stays true for Peach as she grows up.

  3. Fiver is the same way! And yes, I DO hope they stay that way.
It makes my more "Eeyore" prone child a little easier to handle as well:)
