Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

The Supper at Emmaus Caravaggio (1570 - 1610)

This week's Gospel is about the Emmaus Walk.

Here and here are coloring pages for older children, and here for littles. Or download one here.

For some art history, view works of art here.

For art class, follow some of the suggestions here and have the children copy a famous piece of art, or use clay and create a sculpture of the scene.

For a maze puzzle, go here.

For a crossword puzzle, go here.

For a word search, go here.

For an entire lesson, click here to download. And here is another.

This activity is about seeing Jesus when you think you don't -- we had fun with it (Dear Lord, Open our Eyes -- we want to see Jesus!)

From catholicmom.com -- Road to Emmaus Game.

In the kitchen, you might have the children help prepare a meal they would prepare for Jesus if He were coming to dinner.

There is a picture story of The Disciples of Emmaus here.

Some of these matching games would be fun this week -- scroll down until you see "Jesus is..."

St. Julie Billiart -- April 8

Also a teacher, Catholic Online says that when St. Julie Billiart was a child, she loved to "play" school. She is the patron against poverty, bodily ills, impoverishment, poverty, sickness and for sick people. She founded the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.

St. Julie Billiart said, "I ought to die of shame to think I have not already died of gratitude to my good God."

A child appropriate bio can be found here and more information can be found here.

Saint Julie, through your great devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, you were miraculously cured and favored by many graces. By your powerful intercession, obtain for us above all, great trust in God in all difficulties of life, the strength to accomplish in all things the precious will of God and the special grace we now humbly ask of you. Amen

St. Stanislaus -- April 11

St. Stanislaus is the Patron of Poland and soldiers in battle.

A child appropriate bio can be found here and more information can be found here.

"O God, for Whose honor the glorious bishop Stanislaus fell under the swords of the wicked; grant, we beseech Thee, that all who implore his aid, may obtain answer to their prayers. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, world without end. Amen."
