Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

In the great outdoors...
...the sun is setting and it is gray and starting to drizzle. I have been told by all the weather watchers in the house that a storm is approaching. I guess I better hurry lest the power go out.

I am thinking about...
...just trying not to think too hard. My brain is fairly scrambled from five days in a row of dress rehearsals and recitals. I am trying not to think not thinking that I really blew "Every Day in May for Mary" last week.

I am wearing...
...a yellow and red cotton skirt and yellow knit v-neck, with terra cotta colored sandals. I still haven't found new sandals so I am just cramming my feet into all of my sandals which are too tight.

I am reading...
... Something Other than God on my kindle at night, and I am listening to The Dressmaker on audiobook. The Brave (my last audiobook) was very good, and I enjoyed it.

I am creating...
...a  a baby quilt, some blouses for Faith, and a summer robe for me. I also want to order some fabric to make myself a few peasant blouses for summer.

At the school table...
...Faith had a bad cold last week, on top of dress rehearsals, so we are playing catch up, or finish up as the case may be, this week. We're still a couple weeks from done, done.

On the table...
...we had chicken and noodles with carrots and buttermilk biscuits for dinner. I didn't cook for five nights straight so it was really nice to sit down to a meal that wasn't peanut butter and jelly or cold cereal.

I am going to...
...sew a little and then go to bed. I am still tired from running all weekend. I might watch season 3 of Sherlock for a while. I did already see it once, but it's just up on Netflix (or so they have emailed me) and I think I need to watch it again.

A few of my favorite things...
...my little dancer
...buttermilk biscuits with honey
...storms

Around the house...
...lots and lots of laundry, and ironing, and dirty bathrooms
...lots of stuff that all needs put away
...packages that need to be mailed

Plans for the week...a couple of doctor's appointments, but not much else. Catch up mostly.

Prayers sent heavenward for...
...my husband, as he transitions from job to job, and my children
...my youngest son, for whatever God's plan is for him and for Him to know what his part is, and especially now that he is driving...God help us
...our priests and religious, especially our parish priests, and Fr. Howe
...a dear friend, a former classmate to my husband, a priest, who has been diagnosed with colon cancer
...all the babies whose mothers are contemplating abortion this week, for a change of heart

 Quote for the day...

I will sing to the Lord
And I will lift my voice
For You have heard my cry

I will sing to the Lord
And I will lift my hands
For You have brought me out of the pit
For You have brought me out of the pit

And I'll sing glory, hallelujah
I lift Your name on high
And I'll sing holy, 'cause You're worthy
I'll praise You with the dance

  2. Faith has a beautiful smile! She must love dancing. :-)

Tell me about ordering fabric...where do you get good stuff? Prices? Sewing seems sooo expensive.

    1. Thank you, Sara. She DOES love dancing (but not always practicing!).

I get a lot of my fabrics from fabric.com. There have been a few times I have been disappointed but usually I find good fabrics at a good price. This morning I bought fabric (cottons) for three blouses for under $40. I think I averaged about $12 per blouse. Of course I don't know if they will turn out, as blouses often do not (for me!), but I am hopeful.

  3. Faith looks so beautiful in her dance recital photos!!

I hope you have a blessed catch-up week! Enjoy some down time, if you can :-) I realize I haven't posted on my blog in over 2 weeks ... Our computer hard drive is broken, so I use my husband's laptop when I can, but it doesn't have all my "stuff," like photos, so it's more work to put together a post. Sigh ... Oh well, maybe it's a good thing to be on the computer less, as we start our summer season :-)

  9. That can't--CANNOT--be Faith! She's so...tall!!

Just got back from a silent retreat and Barbara, God is so good. Thankful today for His mercy and love...thankful for friendships, both IRL & online. There's not that big a distinction between the two these days!

    1. Margaret, that girl is.so.tall. Over five feet now (I believe that is taller than YOU!) and about a pound and a third per inch. Wouldn't you just die to be a pound a third per inch? She is a string bean.
