Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Monday Daybook

Outside my window...

...muggy and thundering. It appears as though there is more rain on the horizon.

 I am thinking...

...about a post on Call the Midwife. The thoughts are there, I just have to find the time to sit down and make sense of them. I have a lot to say, and I wish we could just sit and talk about it over coffee.

From the lesson plans...

...nothing this week -- it's dance camp week.

From the kitchen..

... BLTs for dinner. Dontcha just love a good BLT? Mayo or Miracle Whip? Miracle Whip for us. We had kettle chips and bing cherries on the side. Not a banner dinner in the nutrition department, but better than take-out.

 I am wearing...

...an aqua and blue skirt with tiny dragonflies on it -- a Lisette fabric from last year, a light blue v-neck tee and white leather Keds, no socks.

I am reading...

...I recently started a couple of books, most notable is Motherless by Brian Gail. (I haven't read any of it since last report.) I started The Burgess Boys on audio yesterday, which is entertaining because I am just listening and not reading.

I am watching...
...(new category here because I always have something going on Netflix while I sew) right now I am in the middle of the series Three Rivers which is moderately entertaining, and clean (thus far), which matters. It was probably too clean, which is why it got cancelled.

I am creating...

...18 scapulars to sew (actually I lost count -- I finished 7 since they were counted, and added several more)
four chapel veils to sew
a Confessional stole to finish when it comes back from the embroiderer
five three baby onesies to embroider
a peasant blouse for Faith to sew
two sets of doll bunk bedding to sew
a white wedding rosary to make

I wonder how long it will take to plow through that list?

 I am planning...

...to plow through that much of that list in the next three days, so you probably won't see me here

I am hoping...

...to start posting on my food blog again. I go back and forth about that blog and this one, and ultimately it comes down to evangelizing. I can't evangelize without a platform. I know so many of my blogging friends wrestle with the same issue.

I am hearing...
...the cat race around the house with this new toy. I have never seen her pick a toy up in her mouth and carry it around. Too funny.

 Around the house...

...just keeping up with the masses messes.

I am going...

...to take Faith to dance camp and Noah to summer gym all week. No plans other than that. (Hurray!)

 I am praying for...

...my children, and my husband

...my cousin Amy who was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes; she's in her 29th week

...our priests and all religious

...all of the babies whose mothers are contemplating abortion this week, and for a change of heart for their mothers.

Photo for the day...

...ladybug tracks on a foggy window -- God's creations are all beautiful. And those tracks look very much like the tracks I would leave if anyone was watching.

  1. I'm interested in what you think of Motherless...I've almost bought the kindle edition so many times and the 'series' is on my Read list.

That is a cool ladybug picture!

  2. Mayo!!! Poor Rob was raised with Miracle Whip and he longs for it, but he married a staunch mayo girl. He insists that he likes mayo as well and I don't have to buy MW, but I sneak it into the grocery cart for him every now and then.

But the children are being raised Mayo. ;-)

  3. Love that lady bug pic. That is me also..running but never straight. Cannot stick with one project.

I am interested in which episode of Call the Midwife you would like to discuss.
After I saw the mom with 7 children abort her 8th..I was done with that show. Her life was just horrible then when her child was dead they were all laughing jumping through the green grass at the end..sickening.

  4. Mayo, usually, but for BLTs I prefer Miracle Whip!

I just--and I mean, JUST--started watching Call the Midwife on Netflix. Is it worth it? Christine's comment about the abortion gives me pause.

  5. Still waiting to hear if I should start that series or not! Come on, Barbara--it's not like you have other things to do.

  7. I have mixed feelings about the show, but after that particular episode, I no longer am excited to see it. it kind of lost it for me. I do think it was true to the feminist movement, it does show extreme poverty and the effects and feelings of some of the women. I just wish they'd show both sides, a pro life woman even through hard times...a happy woman living in hard times...nuns that actually stand up to the truth and teach that.

I've said too much. Should have saved it for that post you are going to make about it. :)

MMMMm BLT's sound wonderful...We hardly use Mayo....I think I only use it for baloni, which, I rarely buy.
