Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Phil 4:6-7

24/52

.
52 weeks of daily life in pictures: trials and celebrations,
the extraordinary and mundane --
whatever is unique to the week.
Join me if you like.

For a couple days last week we watched Faith's cousin. After an afternoon at the pool they had a good time drawing pictures.

A new grown up toy. My old phone had been dropped, months ago, and the screen cracked, though I could still use it. Over time, however, the crack spread and so much of the screen was black I couldn't read it any more. So my husband brought me an early birthday gift. Fun.

Maggie the dog spent most of here week right here on the deck. At least until she chewed the leash through yesterday. She was sick earlier in the week and even after two baths still smelled so badly I couldn't stand for her to be in the house. Poor Maggie. She got another bath yesterday which I really hope did the trick. Maggie does, too.

My second wire wrapped rosary. I'm hooked, though it takes me a really long to make one because these old eyes can not do more than a decade in one sitting. I'm working on one in poppy jasper for our beloved priest who is moving to a his own parish this summer.

CAT testing. It has not been as bad as I imagined, but then we haven't gotten to math yet. I think I'll save that for next week.
I have been surprised at how well she did in some areas and surprised at what she didn't know in others. Didn't know the word "success." Like never heard of it. Hmmm. Not certain what that means.

Some pictures from the garden. Much of what was blooming just two weeks ago is now taking a break, but the pots are looking lovely. This was taken after some heavy rain showers yesterday.

The strawberry patch -- though I don't get a lot of strawberries here, the plants stay a beautiful green all summer and at least keep the weeds at bay.

My little praying angel and some pretty pink-leaved plants.

Wildflowers -- I threw some seeds back in this corner a few years a go and they are finally blooming. There are quite a few weeds as well, but a long time ago I realized I could not weed every corner of this yard. I would have time for nothing else.

Potatoes and onions (and weeds).

Mint (and a few hostas) and weeds.

I just love begonias. I love this pot, too, rescued from my mother-in-law's discard pile.

Faith and her little friend coloring on the porch -- a daily occurrence.

Below you'll find a linky list because so many lovely women decided to join me in my 52 Weeks project. There are no rules (except the two below) -- if you want to start your 52 Weeks this week, go for it! I will keep the links up until next Wednesday, so you have almost a week to do it.

(1) Make sure you copy and paste the URL of your 52 Weeks blog post ( and not your main blog URL). You could also use of Flickr photo page if that's how you do things.
(2) Include a link back here in your blog post or flickr photo page.

  1. I got an ipod touch a few weeks ago, which is an iphone without the phone, and I'm lovin' it. Mostly. For some reason, they don't let other apps use the built in calendar, so it doesn't work as well as my palm did as a pda, but it's the next best thing, I guess. :-)

  3. Enjoy your new toy phone :) I can recommend a really good game--and I am not a gamer by any means. But I love "Sherlock" which is a logic puzzle game. Try it!

  4. What lovely pics! That rosary is absolutely beautiful. If I didn't already have to many, I'd buy one. Your garden is so nice and green!

  5. I didn't have time to comment earlier in the week, so I'm back!

Congrats on the new phone. I simply love mine. I know that's awful; it's just a phone. But it does so much!

  6. Love all the garden photos. We've had a few strawberries from our first year plants, but hope to get more next year. It does take a while, but your berry patch looks thick.
