Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

14/52

.
52 weeks of daily life in pictures: trials and celebrations,
the extraordinary and mundane --
whatever is unique to the week.
Join me if you like.

The week began with storms and heavy rain. The creek behind our house jumped the banks.
It always scares me when the creek gets this high and fast because it could easily carry a person away. No one is allowed to play in the back yard when this happens.

 Swing set out of commission.
Fortunately the water was almost back to normal, and no longer dangerous, in 48 hours.

You may have read earlier in the week that Maggie the dog was sick. She is feeling much better -- thank you all for your very kind thoughts. I made her some ground beef and rice the morning after she ate nothing all day and she was really happy. She sat waiting by her bowl for more.

I saw a lot of this again. I think I'm going to schedule delivery for a new dishwasher on Easter Monday. Or possible Holy Saturday (because Lent is officially over on after Last Supper Mass).

Lots of science experiments growing.

It's open season on flower picking, you know.

Senior pictures. The end of an era. Sigh.

Below you'll find a linky list because so many lovely women decided to join me in my 52 Weeks project. There are no rules (except the two below) -- if you want to start your 52 Weeks this week, go for it! I will keep the links up until next Wednesday, so you have almost a week to do it.

(1) Make sure you copy and paste the URL of your 52 Weeks blog post ( and not your main blog URL). You could also use of Flickr photo page if that's how you do things.
(2) Include a link back here in your blog post or flickr photo page.

  4. You are brave to live that close on a creek that does that! Glad the thing that barks is better! Wonderful senior pictures! Handsome lad! I love daffodils! Hope that my link worked! LOL! I had to figure out how to use Rachel's camera and upload from it etc. so I'm feeling chuffed of myself today. :)

  5. As threatening as I imagine an overflowing can be,it's still so cool that you live near one. Envious.

    How exciting, the senior photo..wow!

  6. So happy to hear your pup is feeling better, that is so hard.

I've not noticed before that you had a creek at the bottom of your patio. Wow! Very cool! Have your children ever built a raft and sailed away? Mine would for sure. :)

Love the college boy pics, there too with our daughter, so emotional to turn over another page. Daffodils and plantlings welcomed here, we still have snow on the ground, but it's melting slowly. Today was lovely warm! Come on Spring!

  7. Thanks, Jamies. And yes, the creek is very sort of bipolar -- it's barely a trickle today!

Thanks, Christine. You better sit on those chicks if you want them to stay. ;-)

Sarah, Your link worked just fine!

It is cool, Allison -- most of the time. When the dog goes in it it's not so cool.

The kids have never rafted, Renee, but they look for crawdads and and fish, build "bridges" and play "hockey" in the winter.

  8. The senior photo made me catch my breath --- how well I remember those bittersweet times! We have three sons, all long-grown. My heart and prayers are with all three. They were never exposed to the Catholic faith, since my conversion was fairly recent. As remote as the possibility seems, I pray for vocations among my (still-Protestant) grandchildren. You have put your body, heart, and soul into making the faith real for your children. I know Our Lord will bless your works and prayers. May He continue to bless you and yours, ... Rosemary
