Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

25 Years Ago Today...

.

...I became his bride.

And sometimes he still calls me that.

Since that day, there have been four beautiful babies, plus three dogs, a rabbit, about 600 rodents (most of which were actually in cages), two fish tanks, and one very long-living goldfish.

There have been tight times and flush times. There have been fights and make-ups. There has been snot, barf and lots of dirty diapers.

There has been lots of gray hairs, lots and lots of prayers, and lots and lots and lots of dirty laundry (thankfully the literal kind, not the figurative kind).

And if someone had allowed me to see the future on that day 25 years ago, would I have still walked down that aisle in my very expensive, white lace, seed-pearl crusted dress?

I can't say for sure. Maybe I would have hightailed it for the convent wall (not likely, but it sounds good now).

I, for one, am glad I couldn't see the future. It surely would have spoiled the fun.

Happy Anniversary, Sweetheart.

    Thank you, Jenny.

Jennie, I can't say I've ever heard that one, but then I haven't heard many new songs in the last 25 years -- I'm an oldie but goodie!

    Thanks, Charlotte.

Thanks, Ana Marie -- that's the St. Charles Lower Chapel (were you married there?).

    Thank you, Emily.

Thank you, Sarah. Yes, the greatest of these.

    Kimberly,
If I get lots of grandchildren I think there will be snot, barf and dirty diapers -- more of the same!

Thank you, Gardenia. He still looks pretty darn good!

    Thank you, Kelly.
