Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Phil 4:6-7

The Good, the Bad, but nothing ugly (of a mid-October week)

.

Good: 33 of 33, and the president of Chile thanked the United States very sincerely for their help. (By the way, did you hear that church bells across Chile rang after the last miner came out? Isn't that awesome?)

Bad: The Post Office returned a package to me Tuesday containing a St. Michael rosary that I mailed to a member of our armed forces in July. I mailed it to his base before he was deployed, but they didn't get it to him in time (it was received in time) and they returned it, almost two months later for a customs declaration.

Good: It only cost $1.90 to mail a small package to Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Good: Caramel Macchiato at home (a heaping tablespoon of this -- no, I don't buy it by the case -- stirred into a strong, very hot, cup of coffee with a very slight lightening of hot milk or cream, topped with whipped cream, of course).

Bad: turning the air conditioner on in October.

Good: high temperatures in the 60s predicted for the next ten days.

Bad: broken dishwasher

Good: freshly washed down comforters and a freshly cleaned closet in a teenager's room.

Bad: getting vertigo cleaning out the bottom of a teenager's closet (will I ever learn to always keep my head upright?).

Good: Antivert sleep

Bad: falling asleep on the first decade of the morning rosary.

Good: the county fair tomorrow!

Bad: getting through the day on Antivert.

Good: leftover Soda Bread for breakfast.

Bad: eating too much butter because it's so good on leftover Soda Bread.

Good: walking on the treadmill, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday -- I'm on a roll!

Good: coloring pages almost every day -- we're going to wallpaper the walls with them!

Good: another great feast day tomorrow! (Did you know that she is the patron of headache sufferers? Good to know!)

Happy Day...it's almost Friday!

  3. We got a box that someone had mailed to Davey just before he redeployed nearly eight months after he was home. We appreciated the non-perishable foods, though...what was left of them!
